The Twine Grimoire Vol 1
So, this was actually the second this on this list that I downloaded. For anyone who may not know, twine is a software used for making interactive fiction, and you can think of interactive fiction as a really advanced choose your own adventure book. That's an oversimplification of interactive fiction as a medium. Depression Quest, the most influental video game ever[1][2], was made in twine.
So, when I read this, I figured "let's try out the software". I then got sucked into a month long rabbit hole, which was very related to twine, but not really related to this pdf. I got distracted, forgot to write my review for this item, and also forgot about this entire bundle until 2025. ADHD is a bitch.
So, despite being absolutely obsessed with twine, this pdf was not part of it. This is the first in a series, but I'm only counting the others if they're in this bundle, which they aren't. This book, without any of it's follow ups, has very little to communicate. If you already know a lot about CSS, you probably won't learn very much, and I know a lot of CSS.
However, if you're a begginer, this would probably be very helpful. You could make a nice enough game with this guide alone, even if it's not the fanciest piece of interactive fiction ever made. This is good for beginners, but if you already know a lot of tech stuff, don't bother. (it is free though, so it won't cost you anything if you do choose to read it.)
3.75/5 stars for this guide, and I intend to write some interactive fiction at a later date. (can you tell my grading system is breaking down?)
[1]: except pong, probably
[2]: Depression Quest was the game at the center of gamergate, which was a precursor to the modern alt-right's strategies.
